I love playing soccer and I am going to play as long as possible. One of my best memories from my years as junior is my 4th place in the Finnish championships in soccer skills. I also played a cap between northern Finland and northern Sweden. Five years in a row I was a part of the district team of Vasa. Mostly I play as a central defender. I can use my best abilities in the defense due to my height and strength (192 cm/ 90 kg). I think that I have good defensive qualities and when I get the ball I keep it within the team. One of my better sides is the passing-game. I would describe myself as team-player. I always try to do my best for team. I played my first senior-game in second division in 1992, I was only 16 years old. Between 1993-1997 I played in the total of 108 series-games in Kraft, my hometown-club. In autumn of 1997 I signed with a Finnish premier league team VPS. The next season I played 11 league games and scored twice. We had a very good team in VPS this year with many Finnish national team players. The same year I played my first UEFA-cup game on the Faeroe-Islands. We went through to the 2nd round and met an Austrian team Grazer AK to whom we lost aggregate. It was a great experience to play in the UEFA-cup. The following year (1999) I was still a VPS-player. I trained with VPS but I played games with Kraft. |
The season 2000 I am still in Kraft because I enjoy playing for my
hometown-club along with many of my old friends. We have an young
but promising team and we have done ok so far. It was a great honor
to be elected captain. In the future I would like to go to another
country and experience playing soccer there. |
